Using IDL to run ozone models for PHYS 731
Raymond Hoff and John Sullivan, Department of Physics
I will be running various long range transport models of atmospheric
constituents for an Atmospheric Dynamics class. The model I will be
running is WRF (or WRF-Chem), which is the Weather Research and
Forecasting Model. This is a next-generation mesoscale numerical weather
prediction system designed to serve both operational forecasting and
atmospheric research needs. WRF is suitable for a broad spectrum of
applications across scales ranging from meters to thousands of
kilometers. I will plan on using this data and results for the class and
possibly on my Ph.D. Thesis.
